Today I accidentally got Hydrogen Peroxide in my eye..

This wasn’t my clumsiness..it was just..an accident..

I woke up this morning and went about cleaning the house and everything before getting in the shower. After I got out, I grabbed my contact lenses and my sister’s contact lens solution on the window and proceeded to rinse my lens before I put it in my eye.

So I placed the lens in the palm using my finger, picked up the solution and squeezed some into my hand, rubbing the lens in the solution. I used a different finger that wasn’t wet, picked up the lens and put it on the back of my palm. I got the lens back on my finger, open my eye with my other hand and placed it on my cornea.

Before I’d blinked to get the lens in the right place, my eye started burning like…

Driving through the Serrana de Ronda, we arrived to the metropolis of Ronda. After visiting the tiny villages of Casares and Gaucin, Ronda was a bit overwhelming. Completely unaware that the day we were traveling was a huge competition day for bikers and runners.

While considered one of the white villages of Andalusia, Spain, the size of Ronda takes away from the quaintness of the smaller villages we had already visited. Mike Powell

Usually my photos are realistic, almost hyper-realistic in their macro details. Sometimes, though, I get excited by a portion of an image and the patterns and lines contained therein.

Yesterday I took some close-ups of a male Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly. Thanks to my telephoto lens the butterfly more than filled the frame. After a bit of tweaking I ended up with an image that is almost abstract, with lots of interesting lines and shapes. You can still tell that it is a butterfly and a flower, but it has a different feel than my other butterfly shots.

I find it fun to try something completely different from time to time.
